We have gathered answers to the questions most frequently asked before staying at Takimotokan Yuki no Sato. Please use this page as a reference before making a reservation or before your arrival.

Reservations & StayBooking

Please check the following information regarding check-in, check-out, reservation changes, and cancellation policies.

QWhat are the check-in and check-out times?

Regular check-in is from 2:00 p.m., and check-out is by 11:00 a.m.

Times may vary depending on the plan. Please check the details of your accommodation plan.

QIs early check-in available?

Regular check-in begins at 2:00 p.m. Some plans include early check-in, so please consider booking one of those plans if you wish to arrive earlier.

For plans that do not include early check-in, please contact us in advance. Availability depends on room cleaning and reservation conditions.

QIs late check-out available?

Late check-out is available until 12:00 noon at 2,200 yen per person per hour.

Please note that we may not be able to accept late check-out requests depending on the next day’s reservation status.

QWhat should I do if I will arrive late?

Please contact us in advance if you expect to arrive after 6:00 p.m.

For plans that include dinner, the latest dinner start time is 7:00 p.m. If your arrival is too late, we may not be able to serve dinner.

If you expect to arrive late, please consider booking a breakfast-only plan or a room-only plan.

QCan children stay at the ryokan?

We are sorry, but overnight stays are limited to guests aged 12 and above.

Children under 12 may use the day-use lunch plan.

QCan I stay alone or for multiple nights?

Yes, both single occupancy and consecutive stays are available.

  • Single occupancy: Availability depends on the sales conditions. Please check the room availability for each plan.
  • Consecutive stays: We prepare different meal contents for the first and second nights. From the third night onward, meals are generally served by alternating the first and second night menus.
QCan I change my reservation?

The procedure depends on how you made your reservation.

  • Reservations made through the official website: Please check from the reservation confirmation screen or the confirmation email. You may also contact us by phone.
  • Reservations made through a travel booking site: Please complete the change procedure through the booking site you used.
QWhen do cancellation fees apply?

Our standard cancellation policy is as follows.

  • 7 days before arrival: 10%
  • 5 days before arrival: 20%
  • 3 days before arrival: 30%
  • 1 day before arrival: 50%
  • Same day / no-show: 100%

Cancellation policies may differ depending on the plan or reservation details. Please check the cancellation policy shown at the time of booking.

RoomsGuest Rooms

Information about guest room baths, open-air baths, room views, and room types.

QDo you have rooms with open-air baths? Are the open-air baths in the rooms hot spring water?

We have two types of rooms: rooms with open-air hot spring baths and rooms with open-air baths.

  • Rooms with open-air hot spring baths: Kangetsu, Kazahana, Yuzuki, Shogetsu, Meigetsu
  • Rooms with open-air baths: Harugasumi, Shinryoku, Shurei
    Please note that these room baths are not hot spring water.

Guests who wish to enjoy hot spring water are also welcome to use the public bath.

QDoes every room have a bath?

Yes. All guest rooms have a bath.

Depending on the room type, the bath may be an indoor bath or an open-air bath. Please check the details of each room type.

QCan I request a room with a good view?

Our ryokan is located on a hillside in Yoro, and the view over the Nobi Plain is one of our features.

For plans where you can choose the room type, please select the room type you prefer. However, we may not be able to guarantee a specific room number or detailed room location within the same room type.

If you have a request regarding the view, please write it in the remarks column when booking or contact us in advance.

MealsDining

Information about dinner, breakfast, dining locations, meal times, allergies, and dietary restrictions.

QWhere will dinner and breakfast be served? Is in-room dining available?

Dinner and breakfast are mainly served in private dining rooms. In-room dining may be available for some rooms and plans.

Please note that in-room dining is not available for groups of 4 or more, or for the following rooms.

Rooms where in-room dining is not available: Kangetsu, Yuzuki, Shogetsu, Meigetsu

QCan I choose the meal time?

Meal times are selected upon arrival from the following options.

  • Dinner: 6:00 p.m. / 6:30 p.m. / 7:00 p.m.
  • Breakfast: 8:00 a.m. / 8:30 a.m. / 9:00 a.m.

If you arrive later than the final dinner start time, we may not be able to serve dinner. In that case, please book a breakfast-only plan or a room-only plan in advance.

QCan you accommodate allergies, disliked ingredients, or dietary restrictions?

If you have allergies or disliked ingredients, please inform us of the specific ingredients and the number of guests concerned at least one week before your stay. Same-day requests cannot be accepted.

  • Allergies: If a supported ingredient is used as a main ingredient, we will replace it where possible.
  • Complete removal: We cannot completely remove allergens contained in binders, soup stock, seasonings, or processed foods.
  • Kitchen environment: As we use the same kitchen and cooking equipment, we cannot completely prevent trace contamination.
  • Seafood and soup stock: Due to the nature of Japanese cuisine, we cannot accommodate guests who cannot eat seafood in general or soup stock such as bonito dashi.
  • Vegetarian and religious dietary needs: We do not have dedicated vegetarian, vegan, or halal menus, nor dedicated cooking facilities.
QWill Hida beef or raw food be served? What is breakfast like?
  • Dinner: Depending on your plan, the main dish may include Hida beef shabu-shabu kaiseki or Hida beef steak kaiseki. Sashimi and other raw dishes may also be served.
  • Breakfast: We serve a Japanese-style breakfast featuring Hatsushimo rice from Gifu Prefecture.

If you do not eat raw food or have ingredients you cannot eat, please inform us in advance.

QCan I bring my own drinks?

A corkage fee of 4,400 yen will be charged for bringing drinks into the dining area. Please contact us in advance if you wish to do so.

No corkage fee is charged for drinks consumed in your room outside meal times. Please note that room service is not available.

Onsen & Public BathOnsen

Information about public bath hours, amenities, and onsen etiquette.

QWhat are the public bath hours and amenities?

The public bath hours are as follows.

  • Morning: 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
  • Midday: 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Afternoon and evening: 2:15 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

Bath towels and face towels are available at the entrance of the public bath. Shampoo, hair dryers, and basic skincare items are provided in both the guest rooms and the public bath.

Other disposable amenities are not available in the public bath. Please bring them from your guest room.

Bath hours may change due to cleaning or maintenance.
QDo you have a private bath?

We do not have private reservable baths.

If you prefer a private bathing space, please book a room with an open-air bath.

QCan I wear a swimsuit in the public bath? Can guests with tattoos use the public bath?

Swimsuits are not allowed in the public bath. Please follow Japanese onsen etiquette, such as rinsing your body before entering the bath and not putting towels in the bath water.

Guests with tattoos should contact us in advance. We will provide guidance after confirming the situation.

QIs bathing tax charged separately?

For overnight guests, a bathing tax of 150 yen per person per day will be charged separately.

Access & SightseeingAccess

Information about shuttle service from Yoro Station, parking, Yoro Falls, cherry blossoms, and autumn leaves.

QIs there a shuttle service from Yoro Station?

Yes. We provide shuttle service from Yoro Station to the ryokan. Please inform us of your arrival time in advance.

Depending on the time and situation, we may not be able to pick you up immediately. We recommend contacting us early.

QIs parking available? Is there anything to note in winter?

Parking is available for guests arriving by car. When the main parking area is full or crowded, we may guide you to the second parking area.

Our ryokan is located on the hillside of Mt. Yoro. If you are concerned about driving on the mountain road, we may be able to pick you up from the second parking area. Please contact us in advance.

In winter, snow or icy road conditions may occur depending on the weather. We recommend preparing winter tires or tire chains when coming by car.

QCan I use a taxi or EV charger?

You may come by taxi, but depending on the time and local conditions, it may take time to arrange one. We recommend checking in advance.

If you would like to use an EV charger, please contact us in advance. We also recommend checking nearby charging facilities before your visit.

QCan I walk to Yoro Falls? Can I visit before check-in?

Yes. Yoro Falls is about a 7-minute walk from the ryokan, and our parking area is one of the closest access points. There is also a slope route, so wheelchair access is possible.

If you would like us to keep your luggage while you visit Yoro Park or Yoro Falls before check-in, please contact us in advance.

Footing may be poor depending on the season and weather, so we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.

QWhen is the best season for cherry blossoms and autumn leaves?
  • Cherry blossoms: Around late March to early April in a typical year around Yoro Park.
  • Autumn leaves: Around late November to early December in a typical year around Yoro Park.

Both are natural seasonal events, and the timing may vary depending on the weather and climate. We cannot guarantee blooming or autumn color conditions.

QAre there convenience stores or restaurants nearby?

Our ryokan is located on a hillside in Yoro, and there are no convenience stores or restaurants in the immediate area.

The nearest convenience store is about 15 minutes away by car. We recommend preparing anything you may need before arriving.

Services & Other InformationService

Information about anniversaries, day-use plans, facilities, payment, luggage, and international guests.

QCan I celebrate an anniversary or birthday? Can you arrange cakes or flowers?

Yes. We welcome guests celebrating anniversaries and birthdays. Anniversary plans are also available, so please check the plan details.

Whole cakes and bouquets can be arranged with advance reservation. Please write your preferred message and serving timing in the remarks column when making your reservation. For bouquets, please also indicate your budget.

Due to arrangement requirements, please request these options at least 5 days before your stay. For bouquets, we may not be able to prepare specific flowers depending on availability.

Please note that this service includes the cake or bouquet only. Room decoration and special performances are not included.
QAre day-use plans available?

Yes. We offer day-use lunch plans and dinner plans.

  • Lunch plan: Seasonal lunch kaiseki served in a private dining room.
  • Dinner plan: Full kaiseki meals such as Hida beef shabu-shabu kaiseki or Hida beef steak kaiseki.
  • Public bath use: Guests using a day-use meal plan may use the public bath for an additional bathing fee. Bath-only use is not available.
  • Children: Children aged 12 and under may use the lunch plan only.
QAre there benefits for booking through the official website?

Yes. For eligible plans booked through the official website, we offer our “Four Official Booking Benefits.”

  • One-hour late check-out
  • One local drink per guest
  • Complimentary commemorative photo
  • 3,000 yen hotel voucher

The hotel voucher can be used for drinks and shopping at the hotel shop. It cannot be used toward the accommodation fee.

Benefits may differ depending on the plan. Please check each plan detail for eligibility.
QWhat amenities and facilities are available in the guest rooms?
  • Facilities and amenities: Wi-Fi, refrigerator, safe, hair dryer, towels, toothbrushes, yukata, and other basic amenities are provided.
  • Yukata: You may wear the yukata inside the building and when going to meals.
  • Smoking: Guest rooms and the building are non-smoking. Please use the designated smoking area if you wish to smoke.
  • Shop: Local products and selected items are available. Please note that instant noodles and similar food items are not sold.
QIs there an elevator? Can guests with mobility concerns stay comfortably?

There is an elevator in the building, but due to our hillside location, there are some stairs and steps.

One wheelchair for use inside the building is available. Walking sticks may also be used inside the building. If you have concerns about mobility, please contact us before making a reservation.

QDo you have karaoke, a lounge, a bar, or a coin laundry?

We are sorry, but we do not have karaoke facilities, a nighttime lounge or bar, or a coin laundry.

Our ryokan is designed as a quiet inn for adults, with an emphasis on a calm and peaceful atmosphere.

QCan I bring pets? Can you arrange banquets or massage services?
  • Pets: Pets are not allowed to stay with guests.
  • Meetings and banquets: Banquets can be arranged for up to 40 guests.
  • Massage: Massage arrangements are possible. Please contact us in advance, as availability may vary.
QWhat payment methods are available?

We accept cash, major credit cards, PayPay, au PAY, and advance bank transfer.

QCan I send luggage in advance, leave luggage before or after check-in, or ship luggage from the ryokan?
  • Sending luggage in advance: Please contact us in advance and clearly write your stay date and reservation name on the shipping label.
  • Luggage storage: We can keep your luggage at the front desk before check-in or after check-out while you visit the surrounding area.
  • Shipping from the ryokan: We can arrange parcel delivery from the front desk. Delivery generally arrives two days or more after shipment, and may be delayed during major holiday periods.

We cannot store or ship valuables, fragile items, or items requiring temperature control. Forgotten items will be shipped cash-on-delivery.

QCan I stay if I do not speak Japanese?

Yes. Guests who do not speak Japanese are welcome. We also have English pages on our official website.

Depending on the situation, we may use translation tools to assist with communication during your stay.

In Japanese-style rooms, guests may sleep on futons laid on tatami mats. If you prefer a bed, please check the room type carefully before booking.
